Libra Seafood Processing Ltd is committed to maintaining the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness. All personnel present on site, including visitors and contractors have a responsibility in helping achieve this goal. Please read all the points below prior to accepting. Visitor & Contractors Food Safety & Hygiene Rules

Visitors and contractors must all enter through the reception area and complete sign in and medical screening online forms. Members of the public are not allowed anywhere on the factory premises unless accompanied by an authorised member of staff.

Visitors and contractors will be accompanied or supervised by a known member of staff made responsible for them. In the case of an emergency it is the responsibility of that member of staff to lead them out of the building to the assembly point. (See the fire policy for allocation of assemble point).

Contractors are required to complete a Libra Seafood Processing Ltd Permit to Work form (QAD.031). This must be checked and approved by the Engineering Manager and/or the Technical Manager before work can commence

Visitors and contractors will be provided with and required to wear any necessary PPE when in any factory production area. Contractors must not operate any equipment unless fully trained and/or authorised by a member of Libra Seafood staff. Contractors must keep within the areas permitted by the work permit only.

Visitors and contractors must inform the Company of any hazardous substances (including allergenic materials), electrical equipment, other equipment, or anything else that might affect the health and safety of employees and that may pose a risk to the safety of the food products Libra Seafood Processing produces. All items of equipment taken into the factory must be removed from the factory, as well as any items removed from equipment by the contractors. The Engineering Manager Must be kept informed of items removed and/or added.

 

ADDITIONALLY CONTRACTORS AND VISITORS ARE REQUIRED TO ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE: Any member of staff or contractor suffering from diarrhoea and or vomiting or that has been in contact with any person suffering from these symptoms must inform the Engineering Manager as soon as reasonably practicable prior to the commencement of work. Any Contractor who has been suffering from or has been in contact with anybody suffering from: TYPHOID, PARATYPHOID or any other communicable disease must immediately contact the Engineering Manager and may not commence work until they have permission to do so.

FIRST AID SURGICAL DRESSINGS: LSP will provide any plasters. These plasters are blue and metal detectable. All cuts grazes and scratches etc. must be covered with a company issue plaster.

HAND CLEANING: Hand cleaning is performed on entry to the food production areas and must be carried out periodically during working periods. Hands must be washed after using the toilet, handling contaminated products, after eating and or drinking. Anti bacterial soaps are provided and must be used. Wearing rubber gloves does not preclude hand washing.
